BowlSheet is a competition scoring and analytics tool for high school and collegiate bowling coaches. Most questions are answered below. For anything not covered, reach out directly.
Core Coach Workflows
How do I create an event and add games?
Open BowlSheet and tap Events, then New Event. Enter the event name, date, location, and oil pattern. Once the event is created, tap Add Game to begin scoring. Each game is stored individually and linked to the event.
How do I set up Baker lineups and substitutions?
When creating a game, select Baker as the game type. You’ll be prompted to assign bowlers to frames 1–5. To substitute a bowler mid-game, tap the bowler’s name in the lineup and select a replacement. Substitutions are recorded and reflected in all per-bowler stats.
How do I read frame averages and spare conversion stats?
Team analytics live in the web dashboard. Sign in, pick your team, and open the analytics view. Frame averages show per-frame contribution across the games in the current view, spare conversion rate is shown as a percentage, and Baker role stats aggregate by frame position (1–5). Games are scored on the mobile apps; once they sync, the stats populate the dashboard automatically.
How do I filter stats by bowler, event, or oil pattern?
In the dashboard analytics view, narrow the data by bowler, event, oil pattern, or date range — for example, a single bowler across all events on a given oil pattern.
How do I export a season to CSV?
CSV export is a dashboard feature. Sign in to the web dashboard and open Exports to generate a CSV for your team. When the export job finishes, download the file and open it in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application. See CSV Docs for full column and format details.
Troubleshooting
The app won’t load when I’m at the bowling center.
BowlSheet is designed for offline use. All scoring and data entry works without Wi-Fi or cellular. Sync to the cloud happens automatically when a connection is available. If the app shows a “Connection Required” screen, check that you have not disabled local storage permissions in your device settings.
My stats didn’t sync to a teammate’s device.
Sync requires that both devices are signed into the same account or the same team. Check that both devices are on a network and that the app is open (background sync is limited on some devices). Reopening the app prompts a fresh sync when a connection is available.
How do I manage my plan and billing?
Billing is handled per team in the web dashboard, not in the mobile app. Team owners and admins manage seats, plan, and payment through Stripe from the dashboard. See Pricing for how the per-team-seat model works.
I accidentally deleted a game. Can I recover it?
There is no automatic restore for a deleted game today — deletion is immediate. If you’ve removed something by mistake, email support@bowlsheet.com as soon as possible with your team and the event details, and we’ll help you recover what we can from sync history.
Web dashboard troubleshooting
These cover the web dashboard specifically — the browser companion to the mobile apps.
My magic-link sign-in email didn’t arrive, or the link expired. BowlSheet signs you in with a magic link sent to your email — there’s no password. Check your spam or junk folder first. Magic links are single-use and time-limited, so if one expired or you already clicked it, request a fresh link from the app’s sign-in screen and use the newest email.
My games or stats aren’t showing up in the dashboard. Dashboard analytics populate after the mobile app syncs. Confirm the phone that scored the games has a network connection and that you’ve opened the app so it can sync (background sync is limited on some devices). Once the games reach the cloud, the dashboard updates automatically — give it a moment after the phone syncs.
The dashboard is showing the wrong team or organization. If you coach for more than one program, switch between organizations and teams from inside the dashboard. Pick the right organization and team, and the analytics view reloads for that selection.
A view looks empty or a feature seems missing. The dashboard is read-mostly for analytics today. Roster editing, single-game frame-by-frame scoresheets, and score distributions are scored and managed in the mobile apps and are on the dashboard roadmap — an empty or absent view for those is expected, not a bug. Team and bowler analytics, filtering, and CSV export/import are the dashboard’s current job.
